Many people living in sub-Saharan Africa are afraid to begin life anew due to disease, poverty and lack of resources. Catholic Sisters bring renewed hope to poor and marginalized communities across Africa.

Since 2002, the Sisters of St. Therese have been providing victim-offender prison care support alongside other employees and volunteers. The sisters work tirelessly to ensure the respect of the rights of inmates and a smooth reintegration into society. The sisters use a holistic approach to prison pastoral care. Here, they pose with inmates and their children at a Christmas party they organized.

Partners Workshops held to plan the next phase of SLDI program

Jul 5, 2018: [Ghana, Kenya] Partners Workshops held in Kenya and Ghana bring together SLDI stakeholders to discuss the future of the SLDI program.

The balance of schoolwork and recreational activities at Kenya children's home, Kwetu Home of Peace, keeps the boys happy and eager to learn. So while they learn subjects like English, they can still participate in some of their favorite activities, including gymnastics and singing.

A total of 13 participants will be traveling to Kenya and staying with the Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi (LSOSF), a missionary community, where they will take part in service learning activities within the LSOSF compound and throughout Nairobi.
