ASEC: Our Team

Sarah Martin

Sarah Martin

Program Coordinator

Prior to my time at Marywood, I worked in the field of higher education, having earned my Ph.D. in Romance Languages at the University of Georgia in 2011. I taught language classes in Portuguese and Spanish for over a decade at several institutions, as well as having experience working with international students studying English. This gave me a wide appreciation of the importance of both education and international cooperation and understanding.

In the spring semester of 2022, I began a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration at Marywood, which I should be finishing in the summer of 2024. I began working at ASEC in the summer of 2022 as a graduate assistant in the SLDI program and was impressed by the work this organization does and the impact that providing these educational opportunities has on so many communities across Africa. I feel very fortunate to have been able to transition into a full-time position as a Project Coordinator and look forward to continuing to work with our different programs in our partner countries.
