Turning Disability Into Possibility for Girls in Africa (The Story of Cheshire Home)

May 27, 2019: [Kenya] success HESA alumna Sr. Anne is providing opportunities for girls with mental and physical disabilities in Kenya so they can reach their true potential.

The Good Shepherd Sisters sponsor orphans and poor children who cannot afford education. Through a grant they acquired, they provide the children with school fees, uniforms, healthcare and counseling. The children also keep chickens and rabbits for nutrition and finance purposes.

May 20, 2019: [Kenya] success Sr. Lucy is using the skills she learned from ASEC's SLDI program to sponsor and support orphans in Kenya in desperate need of quality education.

The main purpose of the HIV Positive and Orphaned/Vulnerable Children project is to advocate and care for children who are and are not born with HIV/AIDS. At the forefront of this work is SLDI alumna Sr. Patricia Kyambuu.
