ASEC Bigwa Scholarship Program | |
ASEC Scholarship Award Recipients UpdateEleven sisters from Tanzania applied for the ASEC Scholarship Fund to study at Bigwa Secondary School; six are enrolled in science and all have attained level ‘A’. All of them were notified of the award through their respective Superiors. Each of the sister’s will receive $425 each year for two years. Funds will be dispatched in two installments each year. The sisters were informed that renewal of the scholarship for the second year is contingent on satisfactory academic performance. ASEC Scholarship Fund to Bigwa Secondary SchoolTo: East Africa General, Provincial and Regional Superiors: In an effort to increase access to education for the African Sisters, I am pleased to announce that ASEC has introduced a partial scholarship fund for sisters to study "A" level at Bigwa Secondary School in Morogoro,Tanzania. In response to ASEC's mission to increase access to education for the African Sisters, ASEC has facilitated the construction of a dining hall, a dormitory, and recently completed a Start-of-the-Art Science laboratory consisting of three well-equipped biology, physics and chemistry labs at Bigwa Secondary School. ASEC recognizes that basic education is the foundation of success in higher education, and the great need to support African Sisters in Science Education, thus construction of the labs. |
